Percy growled in a very un-Percy-like way. “Now we just need to get rid of those eidolons.” Jason grimaced. It clunked to the table and Jason sank back into his chair. “Frank, don’t.” Hazel rose…The gold blade seemed to grow heavy in his hand. “We must live.”…“I-I’ve faced down worse things than you. “Of course Percy would be the contrary one.” Annabeth laughed. “All three of you, listen carefully.”…“No,” Percy said. We got the strongest and the best.” Percy grimaced. “Are there more of you on this ship?” she asked…The strongest, the best. Somehow, he doubted that would happen, but a boy could hope. “Some other time.” Leo waved away the request, hoping they would forget. “It was a prank gone wrong at Wilderness school.” Leo explained with a grimace. “What?” The Stolls and Percy turned to Leo in amusement. And it’s hard to be intimidated by the guy who once glued pants to his head and had to wear them like that all day.” Piper smirked. He had no doubts he was less intimidating than Percy and Jason. “Thanks.” Leo muttered, but he was grinning. She focused on Leo because he was the least intimidating. “Like when Annabeth saw Leo grinning coldly at New Rome. You would be able to tell when the eidolon was in charge.” Nico said. “The eidolon wasn’t in charge of him at those points. Next to Leo, Frank scrambled out of his chair…She couldn’t believe she’d held hands with…No, she refused to think about it. “If that’s true-”…Jason and Percy did the same. We know that at least Jason, Percy and Leo have been possessed.” Annabeth frowned. They would be able to avoid detection much more easily.” Hazel agreed. “It’s more likely they are still inside people.” Nico said. In her own way, Hazel too was a ghost reborn…“Possibly lurking inside some of us,” Piper said. “It’s definitely the nicest description so far.” Gwen agreed. “A second timer? I kind of like it.” Hazel smiled. When she was done explaining, the others looked at her uncomfortably…Piper had forgotten that Hazel was a second-timer. “Piper can use charmspeak to make them leave.” Silena said. “I think it might take a little more than asking them to leave.” Drew laughed. Piper couldn’t explain how she knew…Piper had a gut sense they were still present, simply because no one had told them to go away. ← Previous Work Part 8 of Reading Percy Jackson Next Work →Īadarshinah's list of fics to die for, Watch/Read The Series, Reacting to Canon, Characters Explores Fandom, Why sleep?
