Before I do this, I mount the sync file from the iMac that I'm about to sync with on the MacBook using file sharing. I sync one of the two iMacs at a time with my MacBook Air, since the iMacs are in different locations. Hi When you say that the other Macs will stop syncing when they don't find the original sync file, I suspect that I haven't explained what I'm doing clearly enough.Įach of the three Macs is set up to sync with a file (package) in a folder on a local volume, so there are three separate sync files, one on each computer. Please let us know how it all goes, and if you have questions about any of that.

Once you've done that, go ahead and continue with these steps:
#Folder sync app mac mac#
Before doing that, it's a good idea to make a new backup of your 1Password data on each Mac by going to File > Backup in the main 1Password app. My best guess is that there might be something wrong with your sync file, so the first thing to do is reset Folder Sync & create a brand new sync file. The problems definitely sound very similar, but in order to avoid confusion (and because your sync setup is a bit different from the one described in the other thread), I moved your comments to the new discussion you started. Hi saw your comments in the other thread, and noticed you also started a new discussion to ask for help with this. Currently, this is the biggest pain point for me.

If you look at my previous posts, you'll see that I've been trying to find a consistently reliable sync method for several years. When done, however, the databases still were different. When I launched 1Password and folder synced with that package, 1Password said that there was existing data and asked whether I wanted to merge, which I did. Next, I deleted all the data from one computer following the recommended method in another support article and then copied the opvault package to that computer manually. The 1Password.opvault packages on each computer were identical after running ChronoSync, but the items in each database were different. Yesterday, I tried to sync two of the computers this way. That was working fine until the file format changed from agilekeychain to opvault. (I can't use Dropbox or iCloud because of work security limitations.) Based on a support article I read last year, I had been using ChronoSync to sync the package files in the designated sync folder between two computers at a time. I'm using folder sync to keep three Macs synchronized.
