There's a definite looseness to the controls that enables the kind of sweeping, fluid movements you'll need to run up diagonal walls and along ceilings, yet there's also a fidgety feel that makes it difficult to simply walk a single step or navigate tiny platforms.

That's especially true later on, when levels suddenly add in dense arrays of hazards amidst the speedier sections, which demand chains of split-second reactions. It takes a near-masochistic level of dedication to notch those maxed-out ratings, and even a more approachable grade (like an AB) requires a whole lot of memorization and mastery of the controls. Earning the highest score on a stage is incredibly difficult and requires both obsessive play and a startling level of style and grace – but it's also intensely rewarding.

Merely reaching the end of a level is easy enough in many of the early stages, but with a lackadaisical or inefficient attitude towards cleaning, your resulting grade is sure to be terrible. Nailing that perfect line and maintaining momentum from start to finish feels incredible, much like stringing together an insane combo in a skateboarding game, and the gorgeous visual design – with its minimally detailed characters juxtaposed against lush forest and city backdrops, for example – really sells the concept with silky animations throughout. Play Each side-scrolling locale is covered with lines of visible dust, which also serve as cues for concocting your own ideal path through the many hazards and merciless platforming segments.
